Hi Max. We’re back to posting. We’ll catch everyone up. You had a great weekend although you seem to be teething and have been waking up every couple of hours every night. We started the weekend with our usual trip to Morandi for breakfast. You are very popular there.
We hung out with you on Saturday and walked around, enjoying the nice weather. On Sunday, your great aunt came to visit which was a hit, as usual. You did a lot of silly stuff together.
We are taking you on vacation to the Dominican Republic in a couple of weeks (we are going to Club Med because of their kid’s club). We applied for your passport this week. That was exciting!
And in other exciting news, you got into school for the Fall. You’ll be going the Village Preschool Center. You interviewed with us this week and you were a hit. You were so comfortable there you just fit right in.
You know how to drink through a straw, which is just amazing because your mommy apparently didn’t do that until she was 3.
You are still rather obsessed with firetrucks and now you’re particularly into a DVD series called Fireman Sam which you summon by making a siren sound.
You say “Sam” with a British accent because they do.
You are starting to use crayons although you’d much rather peel the labels because your daddy taught you that that’s what you do when the crayon wears down.
You are also on the verge of figuring out how to drive the little car that operates on momentum.
Zulu and you are better and better friends. You can say her name now.
You are still in love with your big, red car.
We had a nice snuggle at the end of the day today (watching Fireman sam of course).
You looked so handsome after the bath with your combed hair that I wanted to take your pacifier out (your “fi” as you say). But this is the face I got…
Well . . . Max, I was just going to call the cops to find you. Thank goodness you’re back . . . and . . . best of all, your mummy is in some pictures. You have an awful lot of teeth; orthodonture is in your future, I think. Tell Dad to work hard and save.
I’m glad you’re still into your fire trucks; you have the best collection. I’ll miss you when you go on vacation. But we expect lots of pictures of you in the water.
Lots of love . . .
(PS: I think your Great Aunt should dress up a little for these pictures! We have standards.)
MAX – You are a handsome dude ( especially when your hair is combed ) – Welcome back to your blog – I’ve missed your Mom’s weekly postings – Congratulations on being accepted to your Village Pre-school – I can’t wait to visit it with you – that will be a real treat -You are getting to be a big boy – So nice to know you and ZULU are strongly bonding -you’ll always be best buddies – How lucky for you to have your great Auntie so close for a visit – you have such fun with her – and – finally some photos of your Mom ( more of them please ). Have a wonderful time at Club Med! I love you!
I love the new blog post, you were all very missed. Max is up to so many things now! Sabra, you look beautiful in the photo snuggling with Max.
So Big Boy, you’re off to school! A long career of schooling is rolling out before you – mom and dad know how long. You’ll have a great time; and it’s going to be fun hearing all the tales of your school adventures. Be a good boy – share!
Love,
Lola
Welcome back, Max!
I missed you very much and Paul and I will absolutely need a visit.
Love
Michele
Max, as a serial student myself (more fun than work!), I congratulate you on the first of what will surely be many admissions to prestigious institutions. For some reason I see econ in your future, but maybe you’ll do a quick detour through Dostoevsky. See you tomorrow!
Max:
We haven’t been neglecting you, just your blog. We are still very sad but we promise to get your blog back up and running. I was just looking through old photos and came across this one from just after you first birthday. You are a much bigger boy now but you are still waiting in your crib, just like this, after every nap. Eager to get out and smiling a little mischievously. We love you.
MAX – I’ve missed your blog – this photo is classic MAX – so darling – typically you! I love you!
Well . . . You certainly look like a MAN to me!
Max:
Your loving grandmother, SuSu, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 19th. She loved you more than it is possible to describe. You are her first grandchild by blood. She wanted grandchildren (as any grandparent does) for a long time.
She was an amazing woman: a businesswoman, a world traveler, a magnetic personality and a vivacious spirit. Most uniquely, she was a ton of fun, and your dad and I loved her tremendously. Everyone will tell you great stories about her one day. We are so sorry you missed out on having great adventures with her. A little while from now, she would have taken you sledding, bike riding and to all of the museums. Later, she would have taught you valuable life lessons like the importance of family, friendship and generosity. She would have traveled with you and shown you all sorts of things.
We have tons of photos of her to share with you so that you will get to know her in a way when you are old enough. She left you many notes on your blogs that you will be able to read.
We are going to miss her every day. She was one-of-a-kind, as anyone will tell you. You have what appears to be a bit of her spirit already: you are fun-loving, joyful, and a bit silly. Maybe she’s already imparted those qualities to you. If she hasn’t, we’ll teach you about those things in the way she would have wanted.
Max….your Mom has made a fitting tribute to a most wonderful woman. You will read her words of love in the comments she made so often on your blog. You will always be her special grandchild.
Absolutely as beautiful a tribute as Sudy was and deserved.
MAX -These beautiful photos taken by your Mom tell a tale of true love between you and your Susu – wonderful memories will always be a part of all of our lives we shared with her and will live on through you – her #1 grandson. May her memory be a blessing.
Sabra and Randy
This is a beautiful piece, it made me cry all over again to read it. I know Max is a special little guy, Sudy was so excited when he was born, she came running out to tell us when we were in Borneo…So glad Sudy got to spend time with him!
Yannette

Max, you are so beautiful and your Susu adored you. She wanted to be with you all the time! She had so much fun with you. I wish you could remember her; a beautiful, compassionate, loving caring woman. I hope you have some of these characteristics. I want to visit you some day in New York, I was very close to your Susu for many years.
Lynn
Dear Max,
These photos really show the how full of life your SuSu was. She loved you very, very much and don’t ever forget that smile. I know I won’t. I miss her very much.

Max-Thank you for the wonderful pictures showing the great love she had for you. She was always so excited when she got to spend time with you. She would come home sharing her excitment and
the lastest photos.
I know as you grow there will be many things that you will do
that will remind others of her.
What a joy!
I will truly miss her and think of her often for the rest of
my life.
Max, we know you will cherish these pictures of your SuSu. You are both so natural together. We too were saddened to hear of SuSu’s death and want you to know that she was a vivacious, charming, and great traveling partner. We went to Franch with Sudy and Alan some years ago and she was always willing to try anything. We had a wonderful trip with them. We too will miss your SuSu.
Max, I met your SuSu when your mommy and daddy were married. She was a wonderful, kind, generous, smart, caring, charming, loving person, and beautiful, very beautiful. I know that you will learn all about her from mommy and daddy. Everyone who knew her will miss her forever.
What a beautiful tribute!

Max, seeing the pictures of you & SuSu
are so beautiful & comforting to me. You
were her joy! She lived from visit to visit
to spend precious time with you. From
the minute she learned of your conception,
you always were the topic of discussion.
She was a dear friend , unique, caring,
& her zest for life was contageous! She
has been awarded her Halo & I will miss
her always. Lillian
Dear Max, Your Susu was kind, generous, and very funny. She loved being with you.
And though you had her for such a short time, you were so lucky to have her in
your life. As were we all. Barbara
Guys,
I am teary , what a lovely memorial to a special
Lady.
Love,
Jon
Max,
You were the apple of her eye! How she looked forward to doing all the things any grandmother does- getting to do all the fun things without most of the work or worry! She was always a blast to be with and made you feel special . She was the embodiment of joie de vivre ! You will grow up and hear great tales of all her adventures . I know how much we all will miss her. When I was a little girl she took me to do all sorts of fun things and I still remember what a thrill it was to be in her wedding ! We will all treasure those memories of SuSu and am certain that your mommy , daddy and Aunt Amy will make sure you grow up knowing how much you were loved by her and Alan.
Please come find out about your Louisiana roots and get to know all your cousins here.
Hugs and kisses to you and your parents

i met her couple of times one time even before you were born and she was so nice and friendly.

Randy and Sabra, we hug you and there for you in this sad time.
MAX – So cute – a real treat to watch you playing and having such a good time!
Why don’t we fill his crib with these balls, and just throw Max some food now and then?

Maxi: You have to put your pants on when you have a date!!
You look great in hats – I love a man with man of many hats.
Take a great couple for vacation. I want to see EVERYTHING!
Love, Lola
P.S: Poor Zulu; ignored.
MAX – I agree with your Lola – what’s the deal with you running around with your fireman’s hat ON and NO pants – in front of the ladies? Delicious toes and what a great little guy you are. Poor ZULU! She needs some lovin’.
Love, Papa
